Flirtatious Finlandia

I was first introduced to Finlandia around two years back, when a cousin who works as an Officer on a carrier ship returned from his voyage. Never in my life had i tasted such smooth vodka. For the first time, i did not feel the need to drink vodka with any accompaniment. For once, i drank vodka, the way it should be drunk – Neat. This was two years back.
Couple of months back, i purchased a Finlandia Lime Fusion vodka to re-acquaint myself and my cousins with its taste. It’s colourless and has absolutely no odour. As you take the first sip, the vodka will most likely bite you on the tongue and the roof of your mouth, but you will be surprised at how smoothly it will slide down your throat. It does not leave any wierd taste or burning sensation after being gulped down. You do get a mild aftertaste of lemon rind. You might get the impression, that it is too smooth to actually hit you. Well take a couple of pegs and let the magic start unfolding:)
Seen in the photograph above are two cousins who are out. I was knocked out as well, but shot some photographs before retiring to bed. Between the three of us we couldn’t finish the bottle as we had decided to, when we started some hours back:P
Which reminds me, there’s still some vodka left. Need to get back to it soon.

PS: The bottle is completely transparent. The yellow/orange colour is the ambient light.

This is my Land

Dada Bagwe was returning from the village across the farm, from where he gets his daily litre and a half of milk. It also happened to be his 60th wedding anniversary that day. I was waiting for the peacocks to fly down to the farms that morning and Dada happened to pass by. He was probably wondering what a city yuppie like me was doing so early in the farms.

He is my next door neighbor in my native place. His daily routine at his age always boggles me. At 72, he is quite fit, and still rides his bicycle. He has got a whole gamut of village tales. In his company my cousins and me never feel bored. I purposely used the Color accent mode in this photograph, to enhance the green colored eyes of the man.

On his Wedding Anniversary, i had promised that i would give him this photograph. I need to send it asap:P

Abandoned!

Was walking to the bazaar of my native place in the evening. Noticed this bright yellow Gajra lying amidst all the dry leaves. It looked very out of place, very detached. It was a contradictory situation, in the sense that the bright yellow did attract my attention, would attract anyone’s attention, but at the same time this is not where the Gajra was meant to be in the first place. It seemed like a commentary on one aspect of my life. Caused me to wait and compose the image. Then decided to desaturate the rest of frame, keeping just the out of place Gajra in focus. My feeble attempts at Abstract Photography:P
